Rants and ramblings from a few guys who like to talk too much...
final draft?
we're still working on getting everything finalized for printing. We've been contacting a few labels and have gotten positive responses so far. No deals or craziness yet, but it's been a good to get some feedback. We're organizing a good method for y'all to order the album through this site and other online formats. cheers!

Les Paul / Chasing Sound
I watched a documentary on Les Paul the other night and was blown away. I knew of his inventions (electric guitar, multitrack recording), but the film really put into perspective how revolutionary he was. Well, is. The guy's 92 and still performing. What a badass. Anyhow, without Les Paul rock 'n roll as we know it could not exist. His inventions are fundamental to how we create music. I highly recommend watching this documentary.

Humboldt Kids Fucking Around Again
A word of advice. Do NOT go jogging in Humboldt Park after dusk unless you want to risk getting hit with a black jack. Photobucket

Seven Samurai
What an inspiring film. Esp. the very last scene with 3 Samurai standing below the other 4s' graves. "So. Again we are defeated. The farmers have won. Not us." - Kambei Shimada This is only half-true. The reason I say this is because as the farmers will go on living their peaceful lives, there is only a finite period of time until the next league of bandits comes to attack them. Similarly...the Samurai, having lost 4 were really only fighting and protecting because they were ronin and would accept a payment of as little as 3 sq. meals. I wouldn't care if they were hittin' on my daughter - If I was facing life or death and had to choose to be militarized so I could protect my sons and daughters then its a matter of necessity. Sure these wandering Samurai had nothing better to do. They had involved themselves in what some might call a "job" But they were given the opportunity to train, and militarize an entire village to grow and think like them...AND they WON - Am I missing something here? Is that not the smell of victory?

Tori Amos
When I went on a camping trip to the BWCA about 4 years ago I had forgotten all of my cds but the one I had in my player which was Tori Amos' "Scarlet's Walk" I didn't really care for Tori very much or never thought I did. Though, after listening to that album while I was there I realized she had left quite an impression in my mind. There is something about her voice like any artist who really breaks through - some kind of timbre' or nuance that really carries the record - Could it be the way that she twists around vowels to give language her own signature? Kind of similar to Bjork and her uncoventional phrasing of words. Whatever it is it doesnt' matter because it means something completely different to me than a die hard fan. For me it was the Boundary Waters Canoe Area official trip cd. I was introduced to her through "Scarlet's Walk" - a concept record which came out in 2002. If you've never listened to her - that would be the first one to purchase. Personally I prefer everything after the mid-to-late 90's, there's more instrumentation and experimenting which she excells in.

TAAS/Harkonen EP
Is pure awesome. Listen to it, or I will beat box on the mic at the next show. Oh, and the new Zelda game is sweet... don't listen to Tim.

brothers of the head
was awesome. Fake documentary about conjoined twins in britain who make some twisted twin-rock in the seventies. Features the best ever conjoined-twin love song: two-way romeo. Seriously, how could that be better. oh, and "employee of the month" sucked hard. Anyone who likes that movie is a criminal and a sex offender.

The ATHF "Terrorists"
2 individuals, Peter Berdovsky, 27, and Sean Stevens, 28, were arrested and charged the other for placing hoax devices meant to look like bombs around Boston. Turns out they were hired they were hired by a marketing company to place what are really fancy light brites with a character from Aqua Teen Hunger Force giving you the finger. These "bombs" looked harmless ARE harmless and finally WERE HANGING FOR AT LEAST @ WEEKS before, as the boston officials put, "caused a panic in the city." They closed street, brought out the bomb squad. In my humble opinion THEY are the ones who caused any panic that was involved by overreacting. Now they are charging these 2 poor hired hands? Get real. Seriously, a circut board with lights and 4 D batteries looks like a bomb to you? Fuck sake people don't drop that ipod you'll blow us all to bits!! There were these exact devices found in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, Ore., Austin, Texas, San Francisco and Philadelphia. Ot of all those cities not one call or complaint or bomb scare. *sigh* Boston, Boston, Boston, I'm so ashamed.
